Family Reunion Planned July 19 2014
Save the date! We know you haven't changed a bit.....
Korman Family Farmhouse
Inspired by recent dramatic events in the Village of Harford - a car accident, an oversized vehicle stuck at 547 for several hours and a tornado - this blog was started to report news as well as update friends and family about life at the Korman Family Farmhouse.

In...Deed....
Too good not to share....Here are photos of the deeds of the farmhouse. The original Deed was signed on September 25, 1923. It was handwritten and included a list of farm supplies which came with the purchase....12 cows, 2 calves, 2 horses, 100 chickens and more....
Then on September 28 a typed Deed was signed with a separate Bill of Sale for the farm supplies.
I love seeing this bit of history and thought you might enjoy it too. Be sure to save the date for the Korman family reunion scheduled for July 19,2014.
I'm a novice blogger and couldn't figure out though not for lack of time invested, how to get larger images into the blog or how to get a link in that you could click and go directly to find larger, clearer images. But larger clearer images are just one step away on google. Renovations: Kitchen Floor
Covered with green indoor-outdoor carpeting since the 1960's, (and who knows what embedded in it over the past 40 years – ugh!), one of the first jobs that we tackled was the kitchen floor.
After working our way through the carpeting, we found linoleum.
Tearing through linoleum revealed the layers of newspapers. Reading headlines, advertisements, comics from the 1960's was compelling and a pleasant diversion from the task.
Huge gaps between the floorboards were filled with wood putty.
More surface prep prior to painting.
The master decorator, KM Inc designed a two toned floor.
Here are the photos that are the nearest to the completed look.
Having used red duct tape to create the boundary between the blue and yellow paint, we decided we wanted a narrow red strip painted between the 2 colors. This was done by our detail artisan, JEM.
I am still searching for the completed project photos. We were satisfied with the end results and should the missing photos turn up they will be posted.

Tornado Hits Harford
You are not reading the Weekly World News. A tornado did touch down in Harford on July 26. The actual confirmation that it was a tornado came from Diane's neighbors at Tingley Lake who said they saw the news report on TV.
On Thursday afternoon, Kathy said she was driving back from the New Milford Hardware Store. She saw a dark cloud following her and this one wasn't in her imagination. This one had all the feel of Dorothy's experience that famous day in Kansas.
The storm was dramatic but passed quickly. The power went out and all attention went to survival mode. With loss of electricity comes loss of water since the well pump can't function. Power was lost on Thursday around 4pm spoiling plans for children and grandchildren to arrive to the Farmhouse for a visit.
The extent of the damage was unknown until Friday morning when the crew - Dan, Diane, Kathy and Mom - all headed out to The New Milford Coffee Shop for breakfast.
The jaw dropping extent of the damage was unexpected. In the village, one tree fell in a narrow strip between 2 houses on Tingley Lake Road and landed on a garage, completely demolishing it. A tree in front of the Harford Post Office became up rooted and hung threateningly over its roof.
At another home, the tree kindly fell on the gazebo rather than the house. I can't remember the rest of the damage stories I heard but I invite the witnesses to please post comments adding missing details.
